Masterson’s Tavern , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its threshold was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of the Venue : Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that sanitation was not a priority at Masterson’s . The surfaces were tacky , and a overpowering stench of stale beer and uncleaned toilets suffused the entire bar . Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , old age and illness . The main bar, which should be the focal point of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The restroom was in even worse condition — backed up, with a shattered handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

For a business that caters to patrons, these issues are completely unacceptable and raise serious concerns about the quality of their offerings.
